![]() The last 2 or 3 cds were more difficult to remove because they're further down on the white tube. ![]() A little push with a screwdriver will get it to the front slot and out of the player. You can lift the cds through a hole on top of the player and slide them toward the front of the player. The cds are held in place with a white tube that runs through the holes in the cds. You must push it down manually with a screwdriver or something else. The black slot in the front of the unit moves down to release cds. One ribbon cable connects the cd player to the frame. There are 2 screws that hold the cd player to the back of the box, remove those. Remove the outer back cover held by 5 screws. The top and bottom of the "box" will lift off without any screws. Then remove the front metal cover held by 6 screws. You must start by removing the front plastic cover which is held in place with plastic tabs. Taking the radio apart to get the 6 cds out was a problem I couldn't find online. First I found this diagram on how to remove the radio: I took it slow and was able to remove the radio without damaging anything. The cd player part has the "cdc hardware error" and has been unusable for quite some time. We have a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen with the 6 cd changer.
